About the Event
Are you helping a friend or family member with a life limiting illness, disability or aging? Whether that person lives close by or in another country, YOU are a caregiver. You are not alone, although it sometimes can feel that way. Over one million Albertans are unpaid family caregivers. It’s time to come together.
Drop by to meet Anna-Lisa, a member of the growing Bow Valley caregiving community and Ambassador for Caregivers Alberta. Get connected with people who understand your journey and go-to resources that will help you navigate its twists and turns, while nurturing your own health and well-being. Enjoy a cup of tea, light snack and taste of a simple self-care practice you can do anywhere.
About the Host
Caregivers Alberta was founded in 2001 by a grassroots group of concerned caregivers who recognized the gaps in our systems that left caregivers feeling invisible, burned out and isolated. They formed the foundation of what we are now: a province-wide, not-for-profit organization that strives to empower those caring for family members and friends and promoting their well-being by providing resources, support and education. Services are wide-ranging to meet the highly varied needs of unpaid family caregivers. We also work with government, employers and health and community-care providers to inform and support people in decision-making roles that will positively impact the well-being of caregivers in Alberta.
The Cargiving Together in the Bow Valley program is brought to you by the in-kind support of the Banff Tea Company and Banff Library.
